How to Obey the Gospel
Hearing the word of God
Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." Hearing the word compels us to obey what it says when it comes to accepting Christ.
Believing in Jesus
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Repenting of Sin
Luke 13:3 "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." True repentance is an important step when accepting Christ. Turning away from your old life and not going back is what Christ is looking for.
Confessing Christ as Lord
Matthew 10:32 "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before mean, I will also confess him before my Father in heaven." Public confession lets all know you are no longer following the path of sin. Following Christ has become your first priority.
Immersion is Essential
Mark 16:16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved: but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." The example of Baptism for forgiveness of sins is given all throughout scripture.
Living a Faithful Life
Revelation 2:10 "... and I will give you a crown of life." Our faith and works go together when we live faithfully to Christ. This includes studying the word and prayer.
